What We Do

Early Years Workshops

Our Early Years workshops are designed to give every child the best possible start by helping them learn simple ways to keep themselves safe. Delivered in nurseries across the Highlands, the programme uses puppets, stories, and play to make safety messages fun, engaging, and memorable.

Over the course of three interactive workshops, children are introduced to the themes of:
  • Bullying – recognising when behaviour is unkind and knowing what to do.
  • Strangers – understanding when someone may not be safe to approach.
  • Secrets – learning that some secrets are unsafe and should always be shared with a trusted adult.

Children practise clear and easy actions such as saying “No” in a strong voice and telling a trusted adult. To support this learning at home, each child receives a colourful storybook after every workshop, encouraging parents and carers to continue the conversation. Independent evaluation has shown that children remember and use these actions long after the sessions.
